The College of Marine Sciences Council at the University of Basra held its regular meeting, attended by the Dean, Assistant Professor Dr. Osama Qasim Khalifa, and the Vice Deans for Scientific and Administrative Affairs: Professor Dr. Nawras Abdulghani Abdul Zahra and Professor Dr. Abdul Hussein Hatem Ghazi, as well as the Secretary of the College Council, Dr. Kadhimiya Jawad Abdullah, the Head and members of the Applied and Natural Sciences Department Council, the Director of the Quality Assurance Division, the faculty representative, and the Director of the Student Affairs Division. The meeting focused on monitoring the educational process and enhancing academic and administrative aspects within the college.

During the meeting, several important topics related to academic affairs were discussed, including organizing semester requirements and monitoring teaching assignments. The meeting also addressed mechanisms for improving academic performance in line with the directives of the College Dean and the University President. Ways to enhance the quality of education and stimulate scientific research were also discussed.

During the meeting, the Dean emphasized the importance of teamwork and strengthening coordination between the College Dean's office and the academic departments. He commended the efforts of the Head and members of the Department Council in supporting the academic process and achieving the desired academic goals.

This meeting is part of a series of periodic meetings that the college is keen to hold, with the aim of ensuring the quality of academic and administrative performance and raising the level of educational outputs in a way that serves the students and the educational institution.
