The College of Marine Sciences at the University of Basra organizes a campaign on electronic blackmail.

Under the supervision of Professor Dr. Osama Qasim Khalifa, Dean of the College of Marine Sciences, Professor Dr. Nawras Abdulghani Abdul Zahra, Scientific Assistant Dean, and Professor Dr. Abdul Hussein Hatem Ghazi, Administrative Assistant Dean, the Educational Guidance and Psychological Counseling Unit, in cooperation with the Human Rights Unit and the Women's Affairs Unit at the College of Marine Sciences, University of Basra, organized a comprehensive awareness campaign to enhance community awareness and contribute to protecting the university environment from negative phenomena, within the framework of the National Strategy for Suicide Prevention.

The campaign aimed to highlight the multiple dangers of blackmail, review its psychological and social effects on individuals and society, and explain the deterrent legal consequences.

The campaign also focused on promoting digital literacy among students and equipping them with the necessary technical prevention skills, while presenting the legal avenues and official frameworks that should be followed to ensure a sound and decisive response to any blackmail attempts they may encounter in the future.

The campaign included the presentation of an awareness video, awareness posters, guidance tips, as well as the preparation of a report that reviews the concept of blackmail and the most prominent ways to prevent it.
